Clean Your Brushes!

This is an excerpt from Remedy Magazine Spring 2009:

“Wash and condition makeup brushes as you would your hair,” says M.A.C. Cosmetics makeup artist Nadine Luke.  Wash new brushes before using and twice weekly thereafter.  Clean with water and brush cleanser, rinse, squeeze out moisture and mold brush back to its original shape.  “Wash brushes at night, so you have a shot at them being dry by morning,” says Luke.  Once a month, apply some hair conditioner to the brushes, then rinse.

I have not washed my makeup brushes since 2004.  I haven’t really used them regularly until a few months ago.  I wonder what is a good brush cleaner?
